Commitment to Privacy

SchoolStatus considers the privacy and protection of our customer’s data, and the data of their students, paramount to our business. This isn’t just our business, it’s personal as well.

Our People

Trust is at the core of our culture. SchoolStatus requires federal and state-level criminal background investigations for all employees and contractors. Our employees also sign strict data confidentiality contracts specific to the privacy and handling of our customers’ data, with strict monetary and criminal penalties for disclosure. We train regularly on data safety and handling. Customer data is only accessible to the individuals at SchoolStatus who need to work with the data.

Logical Software Controls

Logical software controls keep our customer’s data from being available to non-authorized individuals. You create your users and define the access levels for your users.

Security

We employ a variety of technical and practical measures to ensure your data is safe. While your data isn’t being actively used (at rest) it is encrypted. It is also encrypted while it’s being sent to your browser or device. This includes backing up and snapshotting our encrypted customer data to a geographically diverse storage network that is unlikely to lose 1 piece of student data out of a billion over 10 million years.
