SchoolStatus Additional Privacy Notice for New Jersey Residents

This Additional Privacy Notice applies to residents of New Jersey only. New Jersey law requires businesses that determine the purpose and means of processing personal data (“Controllers”) to make certain disclosures and offer data rights. SchoolStatus provides products and solutions that support teachers, educators, coaches, counselors, and administrators at schools (our “Services”). 

This Additional Privacy Notice is addressed to the following audiences, in each case limited to New Jersey residents:

  • “Contacts,” which means customer account contacts or administrators.
  • “Prospects,” which means customer prospects whose data we may collect online, through in-person events, through social media, or from other third parties.
  • “Visitors,” which means individuals who visit our website at https://www.schoolstatus.com and who visit other websites we control and on which this notice appears (collectively, our “Website”).

These disclosures and rights may not apply where SchoolStatus does not process your personal data or where SchoolStatus processes data on behalf of its clients, such as schools. School employees, students, teachers, staff, professionals, and parents should contact our clients directly (or refer to our clients’ privacy notices) with questions about how our clients collect and process personal data.

We may update this Additional Notice from time to time as required by New Jersey law and notify consumers of material changes by posting an updated Additional Notice to our website.

Other Purposes for Which We Use Personal Information

In addition to the uses described above, we may use the personal data listed in the chart above in order to: 

  • Maintain, analyze, customize, and improve your experience on our Website and of our Services.
  • Support business development, research, marketing and promotions, press inquiries or aggregate statistical analysis and site customization.

Sharing of Personal Data

  • We may share Usage Data as defined in the “Collection and Use of Personal Information” section above to support analytics and advertising, and recipients of such data may include third parties who provide such services. In disclosing or enabling collection of such information, the data may be “sold” or processed for “targeted advertising” under New Jersey law.   • We may share any of the personal data categories listed above in the “Collection and Use of Personal Information” section with our service providers, which may include cloud service providers, customer relationship management solutions providers, and other professional services providers such as attorneys, auditors, tax professionals, or accountants, or others.
  • We may share personal data where required by law, in order to cooperate with law enforcement or other government officials, or for other purposes, including when we have obtained your consent.

Your New Jersey Privacy Rights

If you are a New Jersey resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:

1 ) Right to Confirmation and Access. You have the right to confirm whether we process your personal data and you have the right to access such personal data we are processing about you. We may limit such confirmation or access to that which does not require us to reveal trade secrets.

2 ) Right to Correct. You have the right to correct inaccuracies in your personal data, taking into account the nature of the information and purposes of the processing the information.

3 ) Right to Delete. You have the right to delete personal data concerning you.

4 ) Right to Data Portability. You have the right to obtain a copy of the personal data held by us that in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, readily usable format that allows you to transmit the data to another entity without hindrance. Such copies may be limited to that which does not require us to reveal trade secrets.

5 ) Right to Opt-Out of Targeted Advertising. You (or your authorized agent) have the right to opt out of the processing of your personal data for the purposes of target advertising. “Targeted advertising” means displaying advertisements to you where the advertisement is selected based on personal data obtained or inferred from your activities over time and across nonaffiliated websites or online applications to predict preferences or interests. 6 ) Right to Opt-out of Selling. As described above, we may process personal information for targeted advertising. Otherwise, we do not sell your personal information (and we do not sell personal information we have collected to third parties for use in targeted advertising).

As permitted by law, we may reasonably seek to verify your identity or to confirm your agent’s authorization. We may, as permitted by law, deny your request if we cannot, through reasonable effort, verify your identity or your agent’s authority.
