This Additional Notice to the Privacy Notice applies to residents of Virginia only. Virginia law requires businesses that determine the purpose and means of processing personal data to make certain disclosures and offer data rights. Accordingly, SchoolStatus offers the disclosures below to Visitors to its General Website. (Note that we think capitalized terms not defined here will have the meanings you likely expect, but you can confirm our precise definitions in our SchoolStatus Privacy Notice.) These disclosures and rights may not apply where SchoolStatus is processing data on behalf of its school customers (in particular, for Educators, Parents, and Students) or for individuals who act as an employee of a school (in the case of School Account Managers). Such users should contact their school directly to exercise any rights which they may have.

Purposes for Which Personal Information Is Processed

The purposes for which we will collect or use your personal information are described in our Privacy Notice and include:

Your Virginia Privacy Rights

1 ) Right to Confirmation and Access. You have the right to request that we confirm whether we are processing your personal information and you have the right to access the personal information we have processed about you. 

2 ) Right to Correct. You have the right to correct inaccurate personal information. 

3 ) Right to Delete. You have the right to request that we delete your personal information that you have provided to us or that we have obtained about you. 

4 ) Right to Data. You have the right to obtain a copy of the personal information that you previously provided in a portable and, as technically feasible, readily usable format that allows transmission to another data controller without hindrance. The right to obtain data in such a portable, usable form may only apply to data that is processed via automatic, standardized means.

5 ) Right to Opt-Out of Certain Targeted Advertising. You have the right to opt out of the sharing of your data to target advertising based on personal data obtained from your activities over time and across websites or applications used to predict interests or preferences. 6 ) Right to Opt-out of Selling. You have the right to direct us to not sell your personal information at any time. To exercise the right to opt out, you (or your authorized representative) may submit a request to use by visiting our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page. 

7 ) Right to Appeal. You have the right to appeal our decisions regarding your exercise of the above rights within a reasonable period of time after your receipt of our decision. To do so, you should contact us at [email protected] and note in your message that you are appealing our decision. 

We may limit our response to your request to exercise the above rights as permitted by law.
